Iran
God Bless the people in Iran. The human spirit is alive and well in an oppressive nation.

The rants and raves of Paul Jones Dayton, a liberal father in conservative Utah County.

I smiled when I saw this picture of a gay rights protest sign:

Finally some insight into Multi Level Marketing! Thanks sister Dixon!

Maybe it was the 7 year wait for a new movie that made me enjoy it, maybe it was just the Star Trek label, along with seeing a NCC-1701 prominently painted on top of the hull of the “updated Enterprise.” What ever it was, I enjoyed it.
A full review later.

I will be watching Star Trek in 1 hour and 37 minutes.
I am having one of those days where I can’t do anything right. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.
It seems as if there is almost universal consensus that environmentally friendly policy is the rage, are we actually doing anything about it? An example: Payless has a line of shoes that are “green,” in that they use materials that have less of a footprint on the environment. The Payless shoes are still made in China, a country that has policies that are focused squarely on economic growth in spite of environmental detriments?
I am watching Meet the Press, and I just saw some commercials for NBC’s programming. The NBC peacock turned green and there was a lot of talk about green things to do. That’s all nice and good, but does it really show us if or how GE / NBC Universal is green, as the green NBC peacock clearly implied?
Green awareness is a good thing, but we should strive to go the full distance with our green intentions. In our goal to be more green, we need to extend the dialog to more completely address what it means to a good steward of the environment.
It seems like whenever I am on a plane and disconnected from the cloud all I can do is delete email. I become absorbed in the idea that once my computer reconnects with the precious Internet it will fire off a frenzy syncronization, ridding my email server of wasteful emails.
Oh the things we do when we are bored. Two rows up and to the left a kid has an old superman DVD playing. What I wouldn’t give to have that DVD right now, so I could hear the corny 1950s dialog.
In a related story dealing with my time wasting: The Wall Street Journal morning report podcast really sucks. Way to many smart ass cliches. It is kind of like watching Utah’s FOX 13 news at nine. At least you can laugh at FOX 13′s poor visual productions and mistakes.
I am bored. I need Mandy and the kids right now. I miss you guys.
