Totally Awesome Fundamentalist Goes Out of Business

Dell Schanze, a likely mentally insane Mormon business man, announced on Friday that his business Totally Awesome computers is going out of business. I found this quote by dell: “It’s too bad that all of the media in Utah are liars and murderers,” he said. “You just destroyed the greatest computer company of all time. We were the best in the world, the world champion. All this hatred was created by you. You’re basically angels of Satan. All I can say to the people in Utah is, please pray for all the news people.”

I hate how this man invokes his religion. Some of those liars and murders are employed by KSL / Deseret News which is owned by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am surprised that the Utah media has enough power to destroy the “Greatest Computer Company in the World.”

Go to hell Dell Schanze! Quit blaming the media for your business failure.

Intel, Apple, and the new world of Computing.

This year will be a ladmark year in the world of computing.  Earlier this week Apple announced a new version of the MacMini that has a dual core intel cpu.  While it is not possible to run Windows XP (thank’s to Mactel’s new EFI), it is becoming increasing possible to run x86 linux on the new macs.  Add to all that goodness, Windows Vista will be coming out this year.  While I am generally suspicious of Microsoft by default, I am excited to see the first update to Microsoft’s desktop OS in nearly five years.

Days Go By

Well I think it is time time for me to post my latest greatest personal rant.  Where to start?

It has been a very busy time at work.  I have spent two nights this week staying at work into the early hours of the following day.  While I really enjoy my job, it can be difficult to spend 24 hours at work.  Such is the life of an IT guy.  When servers go down and the business is counting on you to have the infrastructure up, staying up late to keep systems running is a must.

On the homefront:  Things are going well at home.  Mandy and I finally painted the new room downstairs.  It is blue and it is wonderful!  Mandy’s dad is going to add carpet to the room shortly.  I can’t wait to have a 4 beadroom house.

Starla is growing and doing well.  Natalie and Ricky seem very happy in Payson, UT.

As always I think about my late mother constantly.  She was a very loving person who left this life too early.  Nevertheless, I know that LaRayne is with me in more ways than I can imagine.

I am always happy to hear comments from past friends and current family.  If you are readinging this please, add a comment.  Take care and God bless.

Hamas is in charge of the Palestinian Territory

In democratic elections, the “terrorist” group Hamas gained a majority in parliment.  It will be very interesting to see how this plays out in the future of the World.  The United States and Israel refuse to recognize hamas as a legitimate government.  Oh what a mess!

Snow in South Jordan

Well it is late (or early) and I am still awake.  I am looking outside in a north eastern direction and I am seeing SNOW!  Yeah that is right, snow in Utah, the land of the “Greatest Snow on Earth.”  This year the snow has been great in the mountains but extremely lack luster in the Wasatch Front.  This morning is definately the execption.

I can’t wait to drive to work in the morning.  I am being completely honest.  I love the chaos when the roads are covered with snow and every body is running late.  I guess I just love seeing something different!

The Utah Legislature Begins

With a new year also comes a new legislative session.  This year on Utah’s capital hill we can expect the big Republican “tax cuts!”  Yeaaaah!  Oh and don’t forget, Chris Buttars and friends will completely squander anything gay or secular.  God Bless Utah!

Maryland lawmakers approve Wal-Mart health care bill

CNN – Wal-Mart Health Bill

Sweet! A Democratic legislature in Maryland is now forcing Wal-Mart to spend 8 percent of its revenue on health care. This is a good thing for low income families who are employed by Wal-Mart. It is no secret that a very large health care provider for Wal-Mart employees is Medicaid. This bill will force Wal-Mart to pay it’s fair share of health care costs. This is also good for the middle class in Maryland who will no longer be required to pay (via taxes) health care costs that Wal-Mart refuses to pay to it working poor employees.

Hats off to the Democratic legislature in Maryland. I will lobby our Utah legislature on the same issue.

Did you watch frontline last night?

I watched PBS’s Frontline / Country Boys over the past three days.  It was a very interesting documentary.  Country Boys is a story about two boys who grow up in Eastern Kentucky.  The documentary spans the space of three years.  I would highly reccomend that you watch it.  For a young twenty something who is only one year older than the Boys I found that while I grew up in a more suburban setting, many aspects of my life were directly comparible with their lives.
